Who we are...

Tippy is lead vocal and keyboardist for the band Intoit.  She is also a songwriter and plays guitar, but her favorite instrument is her voice!  Although just a teenager, if you close your eyes and listen, you will hear an old soul blasting from her vocal chords. Tippy was born and raised in Dallas, TX, she attended   GSES of Dallas for middle school and now attends Booker T Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts.  When not jamming with her band, Tippy likes to spend time with her family and friends. She works very hard in school to make good grades, stays physically active as a competitive figured skater and likes to attend open mics…even while on vacation with her family.  Tippy has headlined at intimate Dallas venues such as Café Bohemia, White Rock Coffee, Angelas at the Crosswalk, The Wine Therapist and has had the honor of singing at the Eiseman Center for the Performing Arts. Tippy was awarded a 2014 mentorship from the Arts District Chorale; she was a 2013 vocal finalist in the Texas Top Ten talent Show and was awarded a “front of the line audition pass” for American Idol’s final season XV. Tippy is an active member of Good Shepherd Episcopal Church where she acolytes and attends the youth group. She is always willing to volunteer her musical talents from helping inner city kids learn piano, performing all over the metroplex at church fundraisers or singing locally at her church. Tippy is never happier than performing and song and she is grateful to God for her musical gifts, her many blessings and her loving family.

Born in a land far far away (Brasov, Romania), Annmarie is a female drumming machine who has been inspired by her brother, Jack, and her drumming mentors and instructors Michael Plotkin, Mark Solomon and Chris Judah-Lauder who've guided her passion.   When Annmarie isn’t rehearsing and playing for InToit, she can be found every Sunday evening performing drum set at a Rock ‘n Roll Church Service - a seat she’s occupied for the last two years.  In October 2013, Annmarie played drum set for a crowd of 10,000 at the Music Mill Theatre at Six Flags Over Texas for World Youth Day along with her Intoit bandmate Witt, and on New Year’s Eve 2013 she rocked the Balcony Club in Dallas along with her InToit bandmates. In October 2013, Annmarie put down her drumsticks and picked up her guitar and accompanied Tippy in a performance tribute at The Eisemann Center for Performing Arts.

Annmarie’s  first paying job, however, wasn’t  in music.  It was for her work backstage in New York at the Abingdon Theatre in Manhattan for the Midtown International Theatre Festival.  That’s how it goes when you’ve been raised at the foot of a stage!  Annmarie began playing drums when she was seven years old. She joined InToIt in 2012 and has played with The group ever since.  When she's not rehearsing and playing drums, Annmarie enjoys playing volleyball and basketball and is currently Co-Student Council President serving her fourth year on Student Council at Good Shepherd Episcopal School! Next year she'll be attending Ursuline Academy of Dallas.

Witt began playing guitar when, on his ninth birthday, he received his grandfather’s 1960s Silverstone classical guitar. Witt started his musical career learning and collaborating with his mentor, David Karsten Daniels. Witt performed his first single, Just Say Hi, as the lead vocalist and guitarist in his first band, Wreckage.  He collaborated with musicians around the Dallas area, and  with the help of David, Witt recorded several songs as guitarist and vocalist. But Witt’s greatest collaboration was yet to come, for a few months later, in 2011, he formed InToit with good friends Tippy Balady and William Roberts.  Annmarie joined shortly thereafter and they continue to grow musically as individuals but really solidify their sound as a band.  Witt has a knack for songwriting and has written many of the original songs the band performs around town.  The band Intoit has performed in numerous charitable events and raised over $700 for youth missions for Lovers Lane United Methodist Church. In addition to Intoit, Witt joined the Praise Band at Good Shepherd in 2010 and continues to play at Eucharist and other events at Good Shepherd under the direction of Chris Judah-Lauder.   In October 2013, he played acoustic guitar for a crowd of 10,000 at the Music Mill Theatre at Six Flags Over Texas for World Youth Day.  When Witt is not playing, writing, or listening to music – you’ll find him on the baseball or football field depending on the season.  This is Witt’s second season as quarterback for the football team at GSES.   Additionally, he has played baseball around the Metroplex (and as far off as New York) -- as a pitcher and outfielder with the Dallas Cubs.  Next year Witt will be attending Jesuit College Prep.

William also enjoys sailing during the summers. An active and consistent member of the Student Council since fifth grade, William leads others well with a kind and even way.  He mentors for the Classroom of the Earth organization at his school and has previously done this for the admissions department as well.  His leadership skills have even placed him in the enviable position of leading the “Monster Mash” for the entire lower school with fellow student council members at Halloween.Music has allowed him to have an active role spiritually as a repeat performer in a new musical program at his church. He has even parlayed his guitar playing into entertaining as a volunteer. However, his favorite musical outlet remains playing with  his three favorite musicians that come together and create Intoit.  Next year, Will will be attending Jesuit College Prep.
